ExSample Sale Day @ Kudos Edinburgh
Sunday 15th May
We wish we could keep our dresses forever, but unfortunately we just don't have the space. Lucky for brides, as it means we have to have a Spring Clean and sell off some of our ExSample gowns from previous seasons.
You can expect a huge range of styles and sizes, all at a fraction of their original 'to order' price. The gowns differ vastly when it comes to wear and tear, but all damage incurred on the shop floor is taken into account when we price the dresses, and it's always fixable.
With prices starting at £200, you'll be sure to find a bargain - ideal for brides on a budget, or those without the luxury of time to order.
Sale starts at 10am and is on a first come, first serve basis, so it's best to get here early!
Keep an eye out on our Facebook and Instagram for more info on the dresses you can find in the sale.

Waves of Style
Soft shapes, draped fabrics, and dynamic silhouettes are making waves in the 2016 catalogues, and we are fully on board. Layered fabrics give a romantic element, adding movement and texture, treading a line perfectly between fun and demure.
Whether you choose tiered lace for a vintage vibe, or flowing organza to lift your skirt to fanciful heights, we’ve selected the best of the trend to give our brides fashion forward options that stand the test of time.
Skin and Lace
On the catwalks this season there was a return to traditional bridal ideals, executed in a not so traditional way. Full sleeves and lace details are prolific as ever, but incorporating the use of nude tulle and barely there organza gives these traditionally covered up looks a sexier, stylised tone.
When sporting such a racy bridal look, it’s important to not get too swept up with the trend. In store we have gowns that hark to these fashionable elements, without going too far in the wrong direction, to ensure that your dress is effortless, with lasting style.
With so many options on the table, it’s hard to choose just one look for your special day - so why choose? Hitting the ground running next season, Bridal Separates will be the biggest new trend in Bridal fashion, and the benefits of opting for separates for your big day are seemingly limitless.
Classic shapes in modest fabrics give brides the opportunity to choose an elegant base for their look. Then using lace overlays, boleros, and jackets, they can create their perfect dress, specifically tailored to their own individual style. Perfect for a bride who wants to mix things up.

We've got a fantastic opportunity for Brides to-be coming up at the end of the month, and you certainly wouldn't want to miss out!
Our ExSample Sale day at Kudos Edinburgh gives Brides the chance to buy their bridal gown at a fraction of the original price, meaning that a bride on a budget doesn't have to sacrifice having the amazing dress she always dreamed of wearing on her special day.
So what exactly are ExSample dresses and how can we sell them at such low prices?
In the store we have a huge selection of sample gowns for brides to try on before they make a decision to order, but as we approach the new Bridal season we get an influx of new gowns and space has to be made. To do this, we sell off the sample gowns we have in store.
Naturally, because the gowns have a little wear and tear from being in store, this means we can knock the price down and create some amazing bargains for Brides looking to make a saving!
Are all the dresses in sample sizes?
Not at all! Our ExSample dresses range from a size 10 to a size 26, so if you've got a fuller figure you won't miss out.
What condition are the dresses in?
Most of the dresses are in good condition. The most noticeable wear and tear will always be to the fabric; fully beaded gowns might have a few loose beads here and there, and lace fabrics might have begun to fray ever so slightly. Almost everything is fixable and our in house seamstress will do what it takes to get your dress up to scratch! Of course, any damage to a dress is reflected in the price, so if a dress is badly worn then it will likely be much cheaper than a dress in good condition, but pricing for the sale depends on a number of factors.
Sometimes Brides prefer to have their dress dry cleaned to make sure that they are fresh for their wedding, and we can arrange that service for you.
What dresses can I expect to see?
There is a HUGE range of styles available on the day, from sleek, chiffon slips to sparkly, princess skirts! We will be posting pictures of some of the featured gowns on our Facebook page, but the only way to get an idea of what is available is to come along on the day.
You can check out our designers on our Bridal page.
What happens on the day?
Our shop opens at 10am on the Sale Day and we operate on a first come, first served basis. Although we stay open until 4pm, the best dresses get snapped up quickly so it's always a good idea to come as early as you can; that way, you won't miss out on getting your dream dress!
What happens if I find a dress I want to buy?
Buying a dress couldn't be simpler! If you find something you want at the sale day, we take a payment for the full balance of the dress. Unlike when ordering a dress, there is no deposit. Once it's paid, it's yours! We can store the dress here at the boutique (there is a storage charge of £20) where it will be kept safe and won't be accidentally stumbled upon by your fiance!
What about alterations?
We have an in house seamstress who is happy to do alterations to Sale Dresses during the quieter periods of the year, though you are more than welcome to take the dress to another seamstress should you prefer.
Alteration costs are not included in the price of the dress, so there is a separate charge for that which is payable after the work has been carried out. Typical alteration costs range from £80 - £180, though we would never charge over £250 for standard alterations.
If you have any other questions feel free to get in touch and we'll do our best to help you get the answers you need. Keep an eye on Facebook for more featured dresses and updates about the day.
We look forward to making some Bridal dreams come true!!
